City hunter is a suspenseful Korean drama that will have you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. This action-romance drama is definitely one of the best Korean dramas that I have watched. City Hunter is about betrayal, revenge, justice, and unraveling the truth, with some romance mixed in.

City Hunter is based off of the Japanese Manga by Tsukasa Hojo. City Hunter stars Lee Min Ho as Lee Yoon Sung and Park Min Young as Kim Na Na. Lee Yoon Sung was taken away from his biological mother by Jin Pyo and raised in the Golden Triangle in Thailand. From a young age Jin Pyo trained Lee Yoon Sung hard, in order to get his revenge in the future.

Jin Pyo told Lee Yoon Sung that his real father and 19 other men in the military were slaughtered by their own country. Jin Pyo was the only survivor thanks to Lee Yoon Sung's father.

When Lee Yoon Sung is old enough and finally ready to help get revenge on the five politicians who are responsible for making the decision to kill the soldiers, he works at the Blue House's National Communication Network Team. Kim Na Na also works at the Blue House as a bodyguard.

It doesn't take long for conflict between father and son to begin, because Lee Yoon Sung gets revenge on the first politician in his own way. Jin Pyo is furious, because he views blood shed as the only proper revenge.

Along the way, there are many twists that change what you think you know, comedic scenes to lighten up the drama, and some romance. Even if action isn't your thing, I would still recommend City Hunter.

Lee Min Ho as Lee Yoon Sung

Lee Yoon Sung is a kind person with a strong sense of justice and doing the right thing. He is supposed to assassinate the five government officials involved in making the decision to kill the 21 special agents 28 years ago. However, he exposes the corruptions of the first target and even ties him up and leaves him in a box for the prosecutor. From this point on, there is a rivalry and conflict between Lee Yoon Sung and Jin Pyo over how to carry out the next revenge. Furthermore, Jin Pyo warned Lee Yoon Sung to not fall in love. What happens when Yoon Sung falls in love? Will Lee Yoon Sung be able to convince his father that his way of revenge is wrong? Will he be able to save the lives of "the five?"

Kim Sang Jung as Lee Jin Pyo

Lee Jin Pyo is the only survivor of the secret mission to Pyongyang. What makes this even more tragic is that he was betrayed by his own country, watched his 20 comrades shot to death, and watched his best friend save his life by holding him under water taking the bullet. It isn't surprising that Jin Pyo is filled with rage, pain, and lust for revenge. Revenge and restoring the honor of the lost South Korean secret agents becomes his reason for living. Will Jin Pyo be able to kill his son if he stands in the way of his bloody revenge? Does Jin Pyo truly love Yoon Sung?

Park Min Young as Kim Na Na

Kim Na Na is a brave, strong woman who takes her job as a body guard seriously. It seems as if she has no fear of death. More than one time, she used her body as a shield. About a decade ago, she was involved in an accident that took her mother's life and left her father in a vegetable state. Even after 10 years, she refuses to let her father go, because she holds onto hope that he will someday awake. At first, she has conflict with Lee Yoon Sung, but she finds herself falling in love with him. Will she be able to continue loving Lee Yoon Sung? Would she be able to shoot Yoon Sung to save the life of the person she's supposed to protect?

Lee Jun Hyuk as Kim Young Joo

Kim Young Joo is a prosecutor who has a strong sense of justice and desires to unravel the truth. No matter what he has to endure, he fights for the truth to be known. He keeps his eyes on Lee Yoon Sung, Jin Pyo, and the politicians. One of the five is actually his biological father. Will he still be able to let the truth be known when it has to do with his father? Will he arrest Yoon Sung?

Kim Sang Ho as Bae Sik Joong

Bae Sik Joong is a hilarious man who was saved by Yoon Sung in the Golden Triangle. After having his life saved, Bae Sik Joong is allowed to work as a cook for Jin Pyo. Just about every scene with Bae Sik Joong is guaranteed to have humor in it. He even assists Yoon Sung with some of his missions. Will Bae Sik Joong be killed while helping Yoon Sung? Why did he have a picture of Kim Na Na?

I really enjoyed the City Hunter OST. My favorite songs were Sad Run, Red Water, Middle Point Symphony, So Goodbye, Suddenly, and It's Alright.
